An architectural landmark on the verge of being lost, Baden Bank was built in 1926 in Romanesque design. The building retains many of its original features, including vaulted ceilings, terrazzo floors, ornate carpentry, and bank vaults. This property came up for sale at a St. Louis City Tax Sale in July 2017. After receiving no bids on days 1 or 2, the possibility of the property not being sold, falling into LRA’s inventory, and thereby facing a real threat of demolition, became a strong possibility. In an effort to save the building, South Side Spaces secured the property.

The building is currently available for sale. Recent street improvements have laid the groundwork for an ambitious but rewarding rehab project. Preference will be given to someone aiming to revitalize the building and support the neighborhood. The building is available for purchase; contact Hilliker for additional information or to set up a tour!
